I updated my 2 year old laptop to Windows 10 and now it is now dead:(

I was having problems with my  daughters laptop. The disk was often showing 100% usage on a regular basis. Wasn't sure whether it was virus.Carried out various virus checks but nothing showing.  In my wisdom decided to upgrade the pc to Windows 10 and remove all files. This worked for a short while then computer would not charge. The computer is now dead and does not even switch on. Bought a replacement charger but no lights on side of computer and no signs of life.

Was considering sending Laptop to HP for repair but doesn't seem to be a simple process now that it is out of warranty

It's not only a complex process, it's also very expensive -- as you have to pay for shipping, diagnostics, disassembly charges, troubleshooting charges, equipment and replacement charges, reassembly charges, and shipping back.  By the time you are done, you could easily have paid as much as simply replacing it.

For repair estimates, you would need to contact an HP Repair or Service Center.
