Envy 13-ad0
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Im using the HP recovery manager software on the pc and have inserted a brand new unused sandisk 16Gb usb stick. The machine has been stuck on the 'Prepare Disk' step for about 2 hours. What do I do now? The software said I only get one chance of creating a recovery usb, but it doesnt appear to be doing anything.

Hi, the recommended USB size was 13Gb but no larger than 32Gb. I waited for another hour and then terminated the process in task manager. I then tried another USB stick and all was fine. The brand new USB stick was faulty! Thanks

@GrahamLo

Please wait, it may take longer than 2 hours but WHY you only use 16GB. I don't know what is your Envy 13-ad0 but 16GB could be not enough.

Regards.
