I'm not sure if my laptop was factory conditioned to Windows Home edition, because whenever I install a Windows 11/10 Pro using related iso file, it ends up converting the system to Home edition. I've tried changing the product key to a Windows 10/11 Pro, but without success. I get the error "0xc004f050" when trying to upgrade the edition by product key.
Whatever alternative I've used, it simply not working. The laptop is HP Pavilion 15 i5-1235U
Please help me sort this issue with my laptop, as I must install some software that can only run on Windows 10/11 Pro.

Upon researching online, below is the Solution/fix that worked for me:
- Disconnect from the internet completely then try this method: Go to Settings > System > Activation. Under Update product key, click Change product key.
- Use this generic retail key VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T then click 'Activate' if prompted, and restart. If the issue persists, restart your computer and then try again.
- After that, Go to Settings > System > Activation. Under Update product key, click Change product key, and enter your purchased product key to fully activate Windows Pro.

Hi @Aris106
it is an error with the license you are using, or it is not valid, or you have made changes to the hardware.
