Internal battery replacement or not?

Hi!
Last week the error 601 started to appear and HP Support Assistance says: The battery is reporting a failure and needs to be replaced as soon as possible. 
Now, I want to know what are the consequences of using the laptop without replacing the battery? (it still works, but only while charging) and where I can buy a new one.

Hi,

You can use the PC without battery. However, since it is internal it might create some problems as it will continue to give error codes. I guess you could remove it and leave it out.

The part number for the battery is 917724-855
