@Rishav_099,

Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

1. Check for Error Message Details

  • Take note of any specific error codes or messages that appear on the screen when you power on your laptop. These messages can help identify the exact problem (e.g., a hardware failure, system error, or overheating).
  • If the error message refers to the fan, it could indicate a failure or issue with the fan itself, the motherboard, or cooling system.

2. Inspect the Fan Physically

  • Power off the laptop and unplug it from the charger.
  • Check the exhaust vent (where the fan blows out air). Ensure it’s not clogged with dust or debris, as this can cause the fan to malfunction or fail to spin properly.
  • Listen closely as you power it on (without fully booting into Windows) to see if you can hear the fan spinning. If it's completely silent, it's a sign the fan may be dead or not functioning correctly.

3. Run Diagnostics

  • HP PC Hardware Diagnostics: You can run a hardware diagnostic to check for fan and hardware issues.
    1. Turn off your laptop.
    2. Press the Esc key repeatedly while turning it back on.
    3. Press F2 when prompted to run HP's built-in diagnostic tools.
    4. Select System Diagnostics and check for any reported errors, especially related to the cooling system.
    5. Follow any recommendations provided by the tool.
  • Windows Device Manager:
    1. Right-click the Start button and select Device Manager.
    2. Look under System Devices for any warning symbols related to the thermal management or fan controller.

4. Check the BIOS/UEFI Settings

  • Enter the BIOS/UEFI settings on startup by pressing F10 (or another specific key depending on your laptop model) right after turning on your laptop.
  • Look for any fan control settings or thermal settings. Some laptops allow you to adjust fan speed or enable/disable fan operation.
  • In the BIOS, check if the fan is listed as enabled and see if there are any warnings regarding overheating or fan failure.

5. Update the BIOS and Drivers

  • Sometimes, outdated drivers or BIOS can cause hardware issues, including fan problems.
  • Go to HP's support website and enter your laptop’s model (HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-ec1052ax). Look for the latest BIOS and driver updates for your specific model, particularly for the System BIOS and thermal drivers.
  • Install the latest updates and restart your laptop to see if the issue persists.

6. Overheating/Overload

  • If your laptop is overheating or running a lot of processes, it may cause the fan to work harder than usual, or not work at all due to failure.
  • Ensure the vents are clear of any blockages.
  • Try using the laptop on a hard, flat surface (rather than a soft surface like a bed or blanket), as that can block air circulation.
  • Use cooling pads or external cooling devices if you notice the system heating up rapidly.

7. Perform a System Reset (Optional)

If the issue seems software-related (like a stuck fan control process), performing a system reset may help.

  • Backup your data first.
  • Go to Settings > System > Recovery > Reset this PC and follow the on-screen instructions. You can choose to keep your files or fully wipe the system.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue
