Hi @prinsi1
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Given that you're experiencing issues specifically with the Backspace and Spacebar keys on your HP laptop (and you've already tried updates and troubleshooting), here are a few steps you can take to resolve this issue:
1. Check for Keyboard Layout Issues:
Sometimes, incorrect keyboard layout settings can cause keys to behave unexpectedly.
For Windows 10/11:
- Open Settings by pressing Windows + I.
- Go to Time & Language > Language.
- Under Preferred languages, make sure that English (US) or your correct region is selected.
- Under Keyboards, make sure that your keyboard layout is set to US QWERTY or your preferred layout.
- If it's incorrect, click Add a language, select the right language, and set it as default.
2. Check for Sticky Keys and Accessibility Settings:
It's possible that an accessibility feature like Sticky Keys or Filter Keys is causing the issue.
To disable Sticky Keys or Filter Keys:
- Open Settings by pressing Windows + I.
- Go to Ease of Access > Keyboard.
- Ensure Sticky Keys and Filter Keys are turned off.
3. Update or Reinstall Keyboard Drivers:
Even though you've tried troubleshooting, there could be an issue with the driver itself. Let's update or reinstall the keyboard driver.
Steps to reinstall the keyboard driver on Windows:
- Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Keyboards section.
- Right-click on your keyboard device (e.g., Standard PS/2 Keyboard), and choose Uninstall device.
- Restart your computer. Windows will automatically reinstall the drivers
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
