Hi,  I'm having trouble with my HP laptop. It frequently freezes and becomes unresponsive, requiring a hard reset. Has anyone else encountered this issue?  Any advice on how to troubleshoot and fix this problem would be greatly appreciated!

Usually caused by overheating.  Do you have an app that shows temperature like the omen gaming hub?

Some ideas if the problem is heat related

If a desktop there is probably room for an extra fan or two.

If your laptop shuts down while playing a game there are a couple of possibilities.

if it instantly turns off or freezes it is likely a hardware problem such as the video driver.

If the game aborts and windows closes then it is a battery or overheating problem.
Coretemp is a good temperature monitoring app.

Make sure the battery is fully charged before starting a game. Your laptop can overheat if it has to charge the battery at the same time as playing a game. Avoid any intensive games if not plugged in.

To mitigate the heat problem you should use a laptop cooler.
