Hi @Ir211,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

Was it the HP original battery you purchased?

If your HP 17.3 Inch Laptop PC 17-C0000 (2W0J7AV) is not powering on and shows no signs of life even after trying a new charger, the issue could be related to several factors. Here are steps to troubleshoot and possibly resolve the issue:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

A hard reset can help resolve hardware conflicts and reset the power management system:

  1. Disconnect all external devices (e.g., USB drives, printers, etc.).
  2. Unplug the power adapter from the laptop.
  3. Remove the battery (if it’s removable).
  4. Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to drain any residual power.
  5. Reconnect the battery and plug in the power adapter.
  6. Try turning on the laptop.

2. Check the Power Adapter and Port

Ensure the power adapter and the charging port are functioning properly:

  1. Inspect the power adapter and cable for any visible damage.
  2. Try a different power outlet to rule out issues with the outlet.
  3. Check the charging port on the laptop for any debris or damage.

3. Inspect the Battery

If the battery is removable, you can try the following:

  1. Remove the battery and try powering the laptop with just the power adapter.
  2. If the laptop turns on without the battery, the battery might be faulty and need replacement.

4. Perform a Power Reset for Non-Removable Batteries

For laptops with non-removable batteries:

  1. Ensure the laptop is turned off.
  2. Press and hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds.
  3. Release the power button and wait a few seconds.
  4. Press the power button again to see if the laptop turns on.

Kindly find the next set of steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Hi @Ir211,

Please find the next set of steps below.

5. Check for Hardware Issues

If the laptop still does not power on, there might be an internal hardware issue:

  1. RAM: Sometimes, reseating the RAM can resolve power issues. If you're comfortable opening your laptop, try reseating or swapping the RAM modules.
  2. Internal Components: Other internal components like the motherboard or power supply unit might be faulty. This typically requires professional diagnosis and repair.

Summary

  1. Perform a hard reset.
  2. Check the power adapter and port.
  3. Inspect or remove the battery.
  4. Perform a power reset for non-removable batteries.
  5. Check for hardware issues (RAM, internal components).

If none of the above steps work, it’s best to contact HP Support for further assistance. There could be a more serious hardware issue that requires repair or replacement.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
