My laptop will not turn on. It is stuck saying ‘preparing repair mode’ I did diagnostic tests and everything seemed to pass. I turned it off and on again and it’s still stuck in repair mode.

@Rachel245, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Stuck Laptop in Repair Mode!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It seems your laptop is stuck in "preparing repair mode." This situation can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:
Restart the Laptop: Sometimes, simply restarting the laptop can fix the problem. Hold down the power button until the laptop shuts off completely, then turn it back on.
Run Diagnostic Tests: Since you already mentioned running diagnostic tests and passing them, it indicates that hardware issues might not be the cause.
Use Windows Recovery Options:
- Perform a Startup Repair: If your laptop has recovery options, use them to perform a startup repair.
- System Restore: Use System Restore to revert to a previous state.
- Reset the Laptop: If the above options do not work, you might need to reset your laptop. You can do this from the Windows Recovery Environment.
Boot into Safe Mode:
- Restart the laptop and press F8 or Shift + F8 during startup to enter Safe Mode.
- Once in Safe Mode, you can try troubleshooting further or access recovery options.
Check Internal Connections: Ensure all internal connections such as the battery and hard drive are properly connected. Sometimes loose connections can cause boot issues.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
