I let the disk repair program run for over 18 hours. It never finished. I powered it off, then hit F2 when I turned it on and ran disk diagnostics. It failed the second test. Failure code:PLQET3-6A88JX-MFPX0K-60SQ03 . I looked up that code and found out it was hard disk failure code : 303. A search for that returned no results. I would like to try a system restore before trying a system recovery because I have some files that haven't been backed up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for showing your interest in the HP Forums,
I’d like to help 🙂
As I understand the computer isn't booting into windows anymore due to the "repairing disk error" screen,
You've performed the hardware test and it resulted with the failure ID: PLQET3-6A88JX-MFPX0K-60SQ03
(I appreciate the detailed post, as it helps us avoid further questioning and get right to the point).
Here's what the ID represents:
Hard Disk 1 Full Test Failure (303)
You will need to get the hard drive replaced, this can be done either using the HP Part store,
Or by contacting HP phone support to set up a repair/replacement order for a nominal fee as the computer is Out of Warranty:
Please use the following link to create yourself a case number, then call and it may help speed up the call process:
Step 1. Open link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
Step 2. Enter Product number or select to auto detect
Step 3. Scroll down to "Still need help? Complete the form to select your contact options"
Step 4. Scroll down and click: HP contact options - click on Get phone number to obtain a case along with the phone number.
They will be happy to assist you immediately.
