Hello,

We've been using the above laptop for years now with no issue until recently when the hard drive developed a fault and had to be replaced. This was done successfully and Windows 10 updated to the  October 2020 version (20H2) was successfully installed. Everything seemed to be fine but we noticed that the laptop would not wake from hibernation (this includes pressing the power button, using the keyboard and trackpad, and closing and opening the lid). Each time this happens we have to hard reset the computer by holding down the power button until the computer is forced to power down. This is obviously not ideal. I have done some reading and this appears to be quite a common problem, with a variety of different fixes, but we have tried all of them with no luck.

This includes running Windows Power Diagnostic tool, checking that the keyboard and similar are permitted to wake the device in Device Manager, updating the laptop BIOS, running HP diagnostic tool and installing all available updates, and increasing the size of the hiberfil.sys file to 100.

I saw at least one thread with a similar issue on this board, and we tried the suggested fix but that still hasn't helped. If anyone could provide any idea of what we could do to fix this it would be gratefully appreciated.
