@manofgresley, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with your USB ports. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue on your HP ENVY laptop running Windows 11:

Update System and Drivers:

  • Ensure your Windows 11 is up to date. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for updates.
  • Update your USB drivers. Open Device Manager, expand Universal Serial Bus controllers, right-click each USB controller, and select Update driver.

Disable Power Management for USB Devices:

  • In Device Manager, right-click each USB Root Hub, select Properties, go to the Power Management tab, and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

Disable Fast Startup:

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable, then uncheck Turn on fast startup.

Disable USB Selective Suspend:

  • Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Change plan settings for your current plan, then Change advanced power settings. Find USB settings > USB selective suspend setting and disable it.

Check Device Manager for Issues:

  • Look for any devices with a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager. If you find any, right-click and select Uninstall device, then restart your laptop.

Run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter:

  • Open Command Prompt as an administrator and type msdt.exe -id DeviceDiagnostic, then press Enter. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Reset USB Ports:

  • In Device Manager, right-click each USB controller and select Disable device, then right-click again and select Enable device. Restart your laptop.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
