Windows 11 tells me that the CH375W64.SYS driver in my laptop (HP Envy X360) does not have updated driver.  My computer was custom built by HP and I can't enter it in the support page as a product (it doesn't recognize the serial number or product).  So I can't check their site for any updates.  Is there an updated one out there?

Hi @bobk62

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

The CH375W64.SYS driver is linked to USB-to-serial or USB-to-parallel controller chips, and it’s not officially supported under Windows 11’s Memory Integrity feature. HP does not currently offer an updated version compatible with Core Isolation.

It’s incredibly frustrating when a security feature like Memory Integrity flags a driver—especially on a custom-built HP Envy x360 that otherwise runs beautifully.

Here’s what you can do to resolve or work around the issue:

What is CH375W64.SYS?

  • It’s a third-party driver used for CH375 USB interface chips, often found in USB-to-serial adapters, USB floppy drives, or legacy printer interfaces.
  • It’s not developed by HP or Microsoft, and does not meet Windows 11’s driver signing and integrity requirements.

Options to resolve the incompatibility:

1. Disable or remove the device using this driver

  • Open Device Manager (Windows + X > Device Manager)
  • Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers or Other Devices
  • Locate any device using the CH375W64.SYS driver
  • Right-click and choose Uninstall device

2. Disable Memory Integrity (if you need the device)

If the device is essential and no updated driver is available:

  • Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Windows Security > Device Security > Core Isolation Details
  • Toggle Memory Integrity OFF
  • Restart your PC

Note: This reduces protection against certain types of malware, so only do this if necessary.

3. Check for updated drivers from the chip vendor

The CH375 chip is manufactured by WCH Electronics. You can check their site for updated drivers:

If you’re unsure which device is using this driver, I can help you identify it based on your system’s hardware ID.

Let me know if you’d like help locating it or checking for alternate drivers.

I've searched all my entries in the "system" and can't find it.  I searched the registry and found it's being used by OEM53.INF but can't find any specific device that is tagged to.  HELP...
