Hello there, my HP ENVY x360 Convertible 13-ag0xxx is showing this, even though I'm not pressing the mute key. This there any way I can fix or remove this issue.

That display component serves two purposes:

1) Shows the volume level -- by where the white bar appears in the vertical slider

2) Shows whether or not the speakers are muted -- an X indicates they are

Your volume is set to zero, so even the mute key was not pressed, you would have no volume.

Go into Settings --> Update and Security and run the Audio troubleshooter

Well i tried that and the problem hasn't been fixed it still seems to be here. My IT guy at my school says it might be an hardware problem, and I did not change my volume, as soon as I launched my laptop it came up with it being muted

If it is hardware, then that could be costly as nowadays, the audio chip is soldered to the system board and not replaceable.  Not like the really OLD days with desktops when you could go about a get a new sound board and replace the old one in minutes.

As well as that my laptop keeps freezing up how would i be able to fix that?
