HP Pavilion x360 - 14m-ba114dx
Microsoft Windows 11

Idk why this laptop keeps giving me battery related issues but I recently replaced the battery in this laptop because the old one was having issues with charging. Anyways like a month later, everything seemed completely fine until yesterday where it just turned off by itself for no reason. I tried to power it back on and the white light would show for a couple second and I could hear the fan spinning but then it just completely turns off. However if I plug in my charger, then everything is completely fine. I have tried windows update, updating bios, even tried to calibrate the battery but u need to drain all of ur battery for that and this laptop doesn’t allow that to happen.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Don’t know if this will be important but my model is an HP Pavillion x360 m Convertible 14m-ba114dx

Hi @thisdish,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your Laptop battery that is malfunctioning.

I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, I'm here to help you today.

Follow the below steps to perform the battery Test.

1) Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.

2) Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu is displayed, press the f2 key.

3) On the main menu, click Component Tests.

4) On the Component Tests menu, click Power, Battery, and then click Run once. The battery Test begins.

If the battery test fail, there is an issue with the battery and needs to be replaced.

If the battery test pass, update the BIOS for your PC by clicking on the link.

Make sure you keep only the charger plugged in while updating the BIOS for your PC.

Click on the + sign next to BIOS and then download the file.

Open the file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.

If the issue still persists, refer to the steps on this link to further troubleshoot and let me know if that resolves the issue.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a great day ahead!

Hey thanks for taking the time to reply.

im following your steps and I’m at the Hp Pc Hardware Diagnostic UEFI. I don’t see “components tests “. I only see Memory test, Hard drive check and storage test. I also tried to update my bios but it was already up to date. I recently got a battery replacement and it was working absolutely fine a couple days ago so I’m not sure if it is something else or my battery just sucks.
