Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how frustrating it is when the USB-A and USB-C ports on your HP Spectre x360 16-f2000 (74R50AV) stop working, especially when you're relying on them for daily tasks. You're not alone, and HP is here to help you resolve this.

Recommended Steps to Fix USB Port Issues on Spectre x360

1. Power Cycle Your Laptop

Sometimes, a full power reset can restore USB functionality.

  • Shut down your laptop completely.
  • Unplug the power adapter and all USB devices.
  • Hold the power button for 15–20 seconds.
  • Plug everything back in and restart.

2. Reset USB Controllers via Device Manager

This refreshes the USB drivers and can fix detection issues.

  1. Press Windows + X → Select Device Manager
  2. Expand Universal Serial Bus controllers
  3. Right-click each entry and choose Uninstall device
  4. Restart your laptop. Windows will reinstall the drivers automatically.

3. Run Windows Troubleshooter

This can detect and fix hardware issues.

  • Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters
  • Run Hardware and Devices and follow the prompts.

4. Update BIOS and Chipset Drivers

Outdated firmware can cause USB ports to malfunction.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
