Hi @Isra2, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It looks like your computer isn't detecting the hard drive where Windows is installed. This usually happens due to one of the following reasons:

Possible Causes & Fixes

Check if the Hard Drive is Detected in BIOS

  • Turn off your laptop and turn it back on.
  • Immediately start pressing the F10 key (or Esc + F10) repeatedly to enter BIOS.
  • Look for Storage Options / Boot Options and check if your hard drive is listed.
    • If the drive is missing: The hard drive might be loose, failing, or disconnected.
    • If the drive is present: There could be an issue with the boot sector or corrupted OS files.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • Turn off your laptop.
  • Turn it on and immediately start pressing F2 repeatedly.
  • Select System Diagnostics > Hard Drive Test and run a Quick Test.
  • If the test fails, your hard drive is likely faulty.

Reset Boot Order

  • Enter BIOS (F10 at startup).
  • Go to the Boot Order section and make sure the primary hard drive is set as the first boot device.
  • Save changes and exit.

Repair the Boot Sector (Advanced Users)

If your hard drive is detected but still won’t boot, you can try repairing the boot sector:

  1. Create a Windows 10/11 USB using the Microsoft Media Creation Tool.
  2. Boot from the USB (press F9 at startup to open the boot menu).
  3. Select Repair your computer > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Command Prompt.
  4. Type the following commands one by one and press Enter after each:
    bootrec /fixmbr
    bootrec /fixboot
    bootrec /scanos
    bootrec /rebuildbcd

  5. Restart and check if the issue is resolved.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
