HP Laptop 14s-dq1018ur

Hello. I need working BIOS recovery files for my HP 14s-dq1018ur laptop.
Platform ID: 086C8
Product ID: 8RQ14EA#ACB
Serial Number: Edited

The device is stuck in BIOS Recovery mode. It says:
“The BIOS recovery files cannot be found or the files are corrupted.”

I already tried creating a recovery USB drive with BIOS F.32 files — it didn’t work.
Please share the BIOS packages containing these files:
- HPBIOS.BIN
- 086C8.BIN
- 086C8.SIG

Preferably from BIOS versions F.34, F.35, F.36 or F.38.
I need to restore the system via USB boot recovery.
Thank you.

Hi @Pavel1107

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining everything so clearly—that BIOS recovery loop is such a headache, especially when the usual steps don’t work. Let’s try to get you out of it smoothly. 💪

Here’s what you can do to obtain the correct recovery files and rebuild the USB recovery drive properly:

Visit HP Support:

  • Navigate to the HP Support website and enter your laptop's model number (HP 14s-dq1018ur) to access drivers and downloads.
  • Look for the BIOS section to find the correct BIOS updates compatible with your specific model and platform ID (086C8).

HP Support Assistant:

  • Use HP Support Assistant, which can be installed on another computer. It will help you check for updates and download them directly to a USB drive.

Create BIOS Recovery USB Drive:

  • Download the appropriate BIOS files based on your current version (F.32–F.38).
  • Follow HP's instructions for creating a BIOS recovery USB drive, ensuring that the files are correctly placed and formatted for use.

Contact HP Support:

  • If the files are still not working, contact HP support directly. They may provide specific recovery packages or alternative solutions for BIOS recovery.
  • This is particularly important if general recovery methods fail to resolve the issues.

Ensure Proper BIOS Recovery:

  • Make sure your USB drive is formatted correctly and the BIOS files are for your precise laptop model.
  • Double-check for any additional BIOS files or specific Platform ID specifications on the HP website.

Following these steps should assist with recovering your BIOS. If you continue facing difficulties, HP Phone Support can provide advanced assistance tailored to your hardware configuration.
