Hi @Kjs_67,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We’re sorry to hear you’re seeing the “ACPI BIOS error 0xA5” and random restarts. That’s understandably frustrating.

With the “HP Victus 15 FBA0xxx” model number you shared, we were unable to locate a direct match in HP’s driver database. To make sure we get you the correct BIOS + driver downloads, could you please confirm a few more details?

What we need from you

  • The exact full model name (for example: “15-fb0xxx”, or something like “FBA0 / “FBA0xxA”, etc.)

Once you share that, I’ll find the correct BIOS and driver downloads for your exact unit and send you step-by-step instructions to install them with a focus on resolving the ACPI BIOS / 0xA5 error.

Meanwhile, here are some general suggestions that might help:

  • Make sure your BIOS/firmware is up to date (often HP posts BIOS updates that address ACPI/boot errors)
  • Update chipset, power management, and ACPI-related drivers (these often affect the ACPI error)
  • In BIOS setup, check for any “AHCI / SATA mode” or “legacy mode / UEFI” settings that may have changed
  • Use HP’s Support Assistant tool to scan for firmware updates

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
