Hi @srini_Vasan1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be glad to help you!

I’m sorry to hear about the issue with your laptop’s display. It can be really concerning when the screen doesn’t work despite the laptop powering on. Let’s try to figure this out together.

  • Have you noticed any flickering or dimming of the screen before this issue occurred?
  • Does the display briefly show anything (like the HP logo) when you power it on?
  • Have you tried connecting the laptop to an external monitor to check if it outputs video?

Let's try these steps.

Perform a Hard Reset

  • Disconnect the power adapter and remove any external peripherals.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power adapter and try turning the laptop on again.

Check Brightness Settings

  • If the screen is very dim, try increasing the brightness using the brightness function keys (usually F2 or F3 on HP laptops).
  • Connect to an external monitor to confirm the issue is limited to the laptop display.

Test with an External Monitor

  • Connect your laptop to an external monitor or TV using HDMI or another video cable.
  • If the external display works, the issue may be with the internal display or its connection.

Perform a BIOS Reset

  • Turn off the laptop and then power it on while pressing the Esc key repeatedly.
  • When the Startup menu appears, select F10 (BIOS Setup).
  • Once in the BIOS, press F9 to load default settings and F10 to save and exit.

Inspect the Display Connection

  • If you’re comfortable, carefully open the laptop and check the display cable connection to the motherboard. It may have loosened due to physical strain.
  • If not, you may need professional assistance to verify the connection or replace the screen.

You may also refer to this document for hardware diagnostics.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
