Oops! I installed the new Windows 10 update before bed last night and woke to find my HP laptop stuck flickering columns of pinks and blues, like Television static, with what looks to be the HP logo in the centre.

When I reboot it brings up the black screen with white HP logo, which disappears and reapears several times before returning to the candyfloss static screen of doom.

I ran a full system diagnostic and then tried the System Recovery option, selecting the "Windows Rollback" option which only returns to the loop of the b/w HP screen followed by the colorful, shivering rainbow glitch again.

I'm wondering if there is any hope for the files on my computer, if I will need to restore to factory settings and lose everything, or if my machine is well and truly kaput.
