@Shirlgirl55, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

If you're seeing a "Password invalid" message and can't access your PC, here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Double-check your password

  • Ensure Caps Lock and Num Lock are not accidentally turned on.
  • If you use a PIN, try switching to password login by clicking Sign-in options on the login screen.

Reset your Microsoft account password (if using one)

If your PC is linked to a Microsoft account:

  1. Go to the Microsoft Password Reset page.
  2. Follow the prompts to reset your password.
  3. Try logging in again with the new password.

Use HP’s Recovery Options

If you're using a local account and forgot the password:

If you’ve created a password reset disk, you can use it to reset your password.

Perform a System Restore (if needed)

If none of the above work and you recently changed your password:

  1. Restart the PC and press F11 repeatedly to enter HP Recovery Manager.
  2. Choose System Restore and select a restore point before the issue began.

Note: This won’t affect your personal files but will remove recently installed apps and drivers.

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
