Envy 17-n100na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello All, this week my HP Envy laptop has stopped charging correctly. It will charge fine when switched off then without moving it I switch it on and it stops charging. I have tried all the self help online like:

Tried three other charger cables.

Uninstalling battery drivers.

Changing power plan settings.

Also when I remove the battery and with the power cable plugged in it will not start.

Does anybody know of a fix as I can only use the laptop until the battery is discharged?

Any help greatly appreciated

@Steve_FD,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that the battery is not getting charged when the laptop is powered on.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you update the BIOS from the below link and check if it helps.

Hi thanks for your response. I have updated every driver including bios and ensured that windows is up to date. I have performed the battery check which says it is good but it cannot detect the power cable. I have tried three other cables that I know work on other laptops but they do not work on mine, but my cable works fine on their laptops. It is the same with the battery.

I recommend you contact support as it looks like a hardware issue.

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.
