Hi @Jong12

If your HP ProBook 430 G5 is not powering on and you suspect that a BIOS recovery is needed, here are some steps you can follow:

  1. Power Reset:

    • Disconnect all external devices and power from the laptop.
    • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to ensure the laptop is completely powered down.
    • Reconnect the power adapter and try to power on the laptop.
  2. BIOS Recovery with a USB Flash Drive: If the computer does not start, you might need to perform a BIOS recovery using a USB drive. Although Windows 11 is your operating system, the recovery process is similar across Windows versions.

    • Create a BIOS Recovery USB Drive:

      • On a working computer(preferrably windows one), go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads page.
      • Enter your laptop's model number (ProBook 430 G5) to find the appropriate drivers and BIOS updates for your model.
      • Download the BIOS update file to a USB flash drive (ensure the drive is formatted to FAT32).
    • Perform the Recovery:

      • Insert the USB flash drive into the non-booting ProBook.
      • Press the Windows + B keys while simultaneously pressing and holding the power button for 2 to 3 seconds, and then release the power button but continue to hold the Windows + B keys until you hear beeping sounds.
      • The computer should read the BIOS recovery file from the USB drive and attempt to restore the BIOS.
