@Purpleyellow,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Greetings -sorry you’re locked out, that’s very frustrating indeed. For security reasons we can’t help with bypassing passwords or provide master/SMC files. Below are legitimate steps you can try and the official help channels you should contact.

  1. If the account is a Microsoft account (online)

    • Try Microsoft’s account recovery first — that’s the correct route if you sign into Windows with a Microsoft account. Microsoft’s recovery flow will ask you to verify ownership (email/phone/verification codes). See: Microsoft account recovery.

  2. If it’s a local Windows account

  3. If the problem is a BIOS/UEFI administrator password

    • BIOS passwords are handled only by HP Support or authorized service centers. HP requires proof of ownership (serial number, invoice, etc.) before they will remove/reset a BIOS password. Contact HP Support (U.S.) and be prepared to provide proof of ownership and the laptop serial/UUID. HP’s contact/support portal is the start point: https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact.

  4. What not to do (important)

    • Please don’t attempt or request “unlock” files, master passwords, or instructions that would bypass BIOS/UEFI or Windows authentication -those are security-sensitive and we cannot help with them on the Community.

  5. If you need service

    • Use HP Support to arrange an authorized service repair or guided assistance. If your device is out of warranty there may be a fee for service. Have your laptop serial number, proof of purchase, and any relevant account info ready.

Kind Regards,
