Hi. My hard drive totally failed so had to replace with a new drive. Therefore have no recovery partition to rebuild from. Also this is not a new laptop (4+ years old) so struggling to see how I can do this. Normally, the recovery partition is easy to get to and just rebuild from there but not an option. I've also forgotten the BIOS password so a lot of faffing about. Any help would be appreciated

Hi:

 

You won't be able to reinstall Windows unless you remember the BIOS password.

 

No one can help you with recovering/unlocking a BIOS password.

 

HP indicates that a motherboard replacement would be in order.

If you are ever able to get into the PC, you can use the HP cloud recovery client software to make a bootable USB recovery drive to reinstall Windows.
