Apparently my hard drive is failing, I discovered this after running the diagnostic for another issue involving my graphics.

I'll need to replace the hard drive, so I want to get information on reinstalling after changing the hard drive. What is the procedure for reinstalling if I change the hard drive? Will I need an install CD/DVD or does the backup drive on the machine have the ability to facilitate a reinstall through returning to factory settings?

 

I have seen some computers prevent OEM reinstalls on systems after minor hardware changes in the past, so I am especially concerned that will be an issue after changing my hard drive.

Hi:

 

After you replace the HDD you can reinstall the OS by using the HP Cloud Recovery Client utility.

You may want to consider purchasing a better performing, normally more reliable solid state drive (SSD).
