Silent install of "HP Hotkey Support"

Does anyone have any ideas on how to install "HP Hotkey Support" silent? It currently requires admin permissions after rebooting.

It was exactly the same problem with Quick Launch Buttons earlier but there were at least "KbdHook" parameter that solved problem.

Re: Silent install of "HP Hotkey Support"

Try installing the latest HP Hotkey support software from the following weblink:

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp53501-54000/sp53547.exe

Re: Silent install of "HP Hotkey Support"

Someone mentioned that installing "HP Software Framework" before "HP Hotkey Support" can solv the problem.

What is  "HP Software Framework"?

Re: Silent install of "HP Hotkey Support"

This package provides the HP Software Framework for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The HP Software Framework provides a common set of software interfaces that centralize and simplify access to hardware, BIOS, and HP-specific Microsoft Windows drivers.

Link to download it:
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48001-48500/sp48104.exe

Re: Silent install of "HP Hotkey Support"

Yes, but I'm wondering what is meant by "a common set of software interfaces"?

Re: Silent install of "HP Hotkey Support"

Several versions of the hotkey installer can be installed using this command line.

setup.exe /S /V"/qn REBOOT=REALLYSUPPRESS"
or
"c:\folder with spaces\hotkey\setup.exe" /S /V"/qn REBOOT=REALLYSUPPRESS"

The commands in quotes after the /V are passed to the msi installer.  The setup.exe is just a wrapper.

This command was found by using the HP SoftPaq Download Manager and then right clicking the softpaq and viewing it's CVA file (notepad).  Usually you'll find a silentinstall command towards the bottom of this file.  This is true of most HP drivers.
