I'm having this issue come up, when I boot up I get a hard disk check error, but can go into windows like normal after. However when I do a system check, and have already ran a chkdsk /f/r/x as well and went through that , and it did the repair functions, but still is giving me the hard disk error(301 specifically), and a hard drive long check also has been done. But I get the error in the image attached, and not sure how to fix it.
Any help is appreciated!

Hi:
The only way to fix the problem would be to install a new hard drive and reinstall the operating system.
I recommend you back up any files you don't want to lose onto a portable hard drive, and then you can continue to use the notebook as is until it doesn't boot up anymore, or you can replace the drive now.
You have two options to replace the hard drive:
1. Replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SATA solid state drive (SSD).
2. Replace the 2.5" hard drive with an even faster performing M.2 NVMe SSD.
Below is the link to the service manual where you can find the hard drive and M.2 SSD removal and replacement procedure.
HP 15 Laptop PC Maintenance and Service Guide
After you replace the drive, use another PC and use the HP cloud recovery tool which will create a bootable recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your PC.
Here is an info link for how to use the utility...You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.

If you have to use the recovery tool on another PC, you will need to enter your PC's full product number in the tool's search window, which is 4CH91UA#ABA
