i bought this laptop a year ago and never open the box. So the warranty had not been registered.
I am going on a trip and decided to open it, and the darn thing lasted TWO HOURS.
The screen is blank, and I have tried all solutions of this forum and support. Hold the volume key down with power, hold the arrows keys with power, hold the delete with power and press scape, NOTHING.
This has a no removable battery. I do not know what else to do, customer support will not help unless I pay, which I find very unfair, since the laptop was sealed in box.
This is probably the worst investment I ever made in my life. They gave me a case number, but would not go through.
If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Stream x360 Notebook. I understand that your are getting no power issue and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.
However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution.
Check if there is any light lit up on the notebook when you press the power button.
Meanwhile:
Let’s start with the below steps:
Perform a hard reset (click here for details)
And the notebook warranty starts from the day of purchase.
Reply with the result of the above-mentioned steps, for further assistance.
Cheers.

Thank you sandytechy20! I had already tried the hard reset, and did not work. The screen goes back to blank 😞
The power bottom has a light. A couple of times I was able to see in the bottom of the screen something like "...F11", so I know the screen is working. But the screen would not come up so I can reset to factory.
Anything else I can do?

I am so frustreated. The hold windows and B (or V) did not work.
I downloaded the bios file, and it downloads to my computer, but ouwld no extract the files. It gets hung. I am using a HP all in one.
Is there another way I can extract the files from the program so iniated the boot?
And out of curiosity, how can a BIOS get corrupt after oonly a couple of hours of use? I did not have time to do anything on it.

Hi! @Nirmakat, I am the Mr.Robot. It looks like you were interacting with @sandytechy20, but he is out of the office today, so I'll take over from here.
I appriciate your efforts for trying out the steps.
As you mentioned the issue still persists after trying out the steps.
Are you able to boot into BIOS?
Try connecting an external monitor and check if you can see the display.
If you have issues booting into BIOS. It is a hardware issue with your PC.
Please contact HP support for service options.

Hi
When a laptop is made the warranty period starts, then when the laptop is USED for the first time the Born On date usually replaces the warranty start date.
EG: My laptop was made in July 2015 I think and was born on (16th january 2016)...

You may have such a situation, and a kindly HP rep would know and Honour this.
So if it will Power On, then ESC and F11 may give a recovery area.
WinKey + B + PWR button for 1 second starts a BIOS repair, BUT dont do this unless all else fails.
For most laptops, press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds to reset.

You could consider making a Repair / Recovery / Rebuild / Re-Install media, like a DVD or USB stick.
So please tell us what you feel capable of achieving and want to try.

Thank you so much for all your insight Mr Robot! (funny)
I was able to make a bootable stick on an old computer my hubby has upstair with windows 7, and the notebook go thruogh installing the new bios, but then the screen goes blank AGAIN!
I am so frustrated, 1st, because I am good at fixing these things, and I seem powerless, and second because is new.
So if HP would honor the warranty, I would be so appreciative. Because I think I need professional help. I hate to think I spent on a new notebook that has no use at all.
The reason I saved it and not returned it is because I prefer windows 8 than 10. And I knew if I needed it later, it would be impossible to find the previous operating system.
I will wait for the support. Thank you so much.
