What stylus is compatible with HP Envy x360 13-bd0510sa as it has been hard trying to find something that works.

Hi @Aidan48

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for pointing that out, and I’m sorry for the difficulty you’ve faced trying to find a stylus that works with your device. The HP Envy x360 13-bd0510sa supports pens that use the Microsoft Pen Protocol (MPP).

This means you do not need to rely on generic capacitive pens, but instead can use an active stylus designed to provide pressure sensitivity, tilt, and palm rejection.

The stylus models that can be used are:

HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen

This is the most suitable option as it supports tilt and pressure sensitivity.

Product details are available here:
HP Rechargeable MPP 2.0 Tilt Pen (3J122AA)

HP Rechargeable Active Pen G3

Another option that is widely compatible across Envy x360 devices.

You can review it here:
HP Rechargeable Active Pen G3 (6SG43AA)

If you already have access to a Microsoft Surface Pen or another MPP-compatible stylus, you can try it as well, as these are often interchangeable. However, for the best experience, the two models listed above will give you the most reliable performance.

Good morning Hawks_eye,

Unfortunately the HP MPP 2.0 tilt pen is not compatible, I bought one and it does not work. When going through the computer system with the help of chat GPT I learned that this model does not support MPP but does support AES. I have ordered the G3 and hopefully this will work.

Many thanks

Aidan

Update, I have bought the G3 active pen and this too does not work on the laptop. I've installed the latest Wacom AES drivers and trouble shooter through chat gpt. The device will connect via Bluetooth and buttons work but no response from screen touch 😬 really just want a pen that will work for my laptop but can't seem to get a definite answer of the laptops stylus capabilities MPP 1, MPP 2, AES 1, AES 2 or touch only

Thank you for your patience and for sharing what you’ve already tried — I completely understand how frustrating this can be when everything looks set up correctly, yet the stylus still doesn’t register.
