Hi @S-N-S1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The "System board (00A)" error message on an HP Pavilion x360 laptop typically indicates a hardware issue with the motherboard or other critical components. When you encounter such an error, and the laptop is unresponsive with non-functioning input devices, it can be a serious problem that might require professional attention. Here's what you can try to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Check for Loose Connections: Ensure that all internal connections (such as RAM and hard drive) are properly seated. If you are comfortable, you can open the laptop to do this, but if it's under warranty, it's best to contact HP support.
  • Hard Reset: Perform a hard reset by unplugging the laptop from the power source and removing the battery (if possible). Then, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds. Reconnect the battery and power source, and try turning it on.
  • BIOS Update: If you can access the BIOS, consider updating the BIOS to the latest version. Sometimes, a BIOS update can resolve hardware issues.
  • Boot into Safe Mode: If possible, boot into Safe Mode to rule out any software-related problems. If the laptop functions properly in Safe Mode, it could indicate a driver or software issue.
  • External Keyboard and Mouse: If your built-in keyboard and touchpad are not working, you can connect an external USB keyboard and mouse to see if they work.
  • Perform a System Diagnostics Test: HP laptops often come with built-in diagnostics tools. Access these tools from the BIOS menu, or by pressing a specific key during startup (often F2 or Esc). Run a full system test to check for hardware issues.
  • Restore to Factory Defaults: If you can access the BIOS, you might have an option to restore the laptop to factory defaults. This can help if there is a configuration issue causing the problem.
  • Data Backup: Before attempting any major repairs or sending the laptop for service, make sure to back up your data if you haven't already.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
