It sounds like your laptop is unable to detect the hard drive, which is causing the Boot Device Not Found (3F8) error. Here are some steps to troubleshoot:
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the laptop.
- Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
- Hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain residual power.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try booting again.
2. Check BIOS Settings
- Restart your laptop and press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
- Navigate to Boot Options and ensure the hard drive is listed.
- If available, enable UEFI Boot Mode and disable Legacy Boot Mode.
- Save changes and restart.
3. Run System Diagnostics
- On the error screen, press F2 to enter System Diagnostics.
- Run a Hard Drive Test to check for failures.
4. Reseat the Hard Drive
- If comfortable, remove and reinsert the hard drive.
- Loose connections can cause boot failures.
5. Reinstall Windows
- If the hard drive is detected but won’t boot, you may need to reinstall Windows.
- Create a bootable USB drive using another computer and install Windows.
