Hello,

I’m trying to reinstall Windows using the official HP Recovery Manager USB, but the process doesn’t complete correctly.

I already tried:

  • Booting again from the recovery USB.

  • Using different USB ports.

  • Verifying the USB with HP Recovery Tool.

But the issue persists.

I checked the SSRD_dism.log:

@Burnot, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Recreate the USB Recovery Media

Try remaking the recovery USB using HP’s official Recovery Media Creation Tool.

If possible, use a different USB stick to create the media again.

Check BIOS Settings

Reset BIOS to default settings: Go to BIOS (press ESC or F10 when powering on) and reset to defaults.

Disable Secure Boot: In BIOS, disable Secure Boot under Boot or Security settings.

Set USB as First Boot Device: Make sure the recovery USB is set to boot first.

Check Hardware

Run HP Diagnostics (press ESC then F2 on startup) to check if your hard drive or memory is failing.

Try Installing Windows with a Microsoft USB

Download Windows 10 Media Creation Tool from Microsoft, create a Windows 10 bootable USB.

Boot from it, choose Custom Installation, and reinstall Windows.

Use Command Prompt to Fix Image

Boot from the recovery USB.

Choose Repair your computer > Troubleshoot > Command Prompt.

Run these commands:

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

sfc /scannow

Use HP Recovery Partition (If available)

If you have a hidden HP Recovery Partition, press F11 on startup to access it and restore the PC to factory settings.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
