Title: Fingerprint Sensor Not Working After Fresh Windows 11 Installation – HP Envy x360 15-cn0008na

Hello HP Community,

I recently did a clean installation of Windows 11 Home on my HP ENVY x360 – 15-cn0008na. The installation completed successfully, but my fingerprint sensor is not working.

When I go to Settings → Accounts → Sign-in options, it says:

“We couldn’t find a fingerprint scanner compatible with Windows Hello.”

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

  • Installed all Windows updates.

  • Checked HP Support Assistant → it says no new drivers are required.

  • Tried searching manually for fingerprint drivers on HP’s website, but I can’t find a specific driver for this model.

At the moment, Device Manager does not show any active fingerprint sensor.

Questions:

  1. Does my model require a specific fingerprint driver (Validity, Synaptics, or Goodix)?

  2. Where can I download the correct driver for Windows 11?

  3. Could the clean install have removed something needed from HP’s original image?

Any help will be appreciated — I need the fingerprint sensor working again for Windows Hello.

Thanks in advance!

Hi:

Unfortunately, HP only has W10 drivers for your notebook, so the only suggestion I can offer would be to install the latest W10 fingerprint sensor driver HP has for your notebook from the link below:
