my daughter tried to figure out my password and now my laptop says too many failed attempts, try another sign in option or keep laptop on for two hrs. However, screen goes black if no one is using it and since no one can access anything, no one is using it. I need help getting into my laptop.

@TehjaB, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I'm sorry to hear that you're having trouble accessing your laptop. However, I can offer some general tips that might help you resolve the issue:

Keep the Laptop Powered On: If the message suggests keeping the laptop on for two hours, ensure it's plugged into a power source to prevent it from shutting down due to battery issues.

Prevent Sleep Mode: You can try adjusting the settings to prevent the laptop from going to sleep or turning off the screen by accessing the power settings. If you can't log in, you might need to consult your device's manual or online resources for assistance.

Use Another Sign-In Option: If you have alternative sign-in options enabled, such as fingerprint recognition, facial recognition, or a backup PIN, you can try those to gain access.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
