Hi @Dimmys,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concern so clearly. I can feel the urgency and frustration you're facing, especially when your trusted HP laptop isn’t booting into Windows. Let’s work together to bring it back to life. You’re not alone in this, and I’m here to guide you step by step.

Your HP 15s-fq0000 Laptop PC (8TH59AV) is stuck at BIOS and not loading Windows from the hard drive. This usually points to a boot device issue, a corrupted OS, or a hard drive detection failure.

1. Perform a Hard Reset

This clears temporary hardware glitches:

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Unplug the charger.
  • Press and hold the power button for 15–20 seconds.
  • Plug the charger back in and try turning it on.

2. Check BIOS Boot Settings

  • Press Esc or F10 during startup to enter BIOS.
  • Go to System Configuration > Boot Options.
  • Ensure UEFI Boot Mode is enabled.
  • Make sure your internal hard drive is listed as the first boot device.

3. Run HP Diagnostics

  • From BIOS, press F2 to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Run the System Test and Hard Drive Test.
  • If the hard drive fails, it may need replacement.

4. Try System Recovery

If the hard drive is detected but Windows won’t load:

  • Turn off the laptop.
  • Turn it on and immediately press F11 repeatedly.
  • This should launch HP Recovery Manager.
  • Choose System Recovery to reinstall Windows.

5. Use HP Support Assistant

If you can boot into Windows later, install HP Support Assistant | HP® Support to keep your system optimized and updated.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
