I've had prior issues with my laptop due to a botched reset. Here's the link for it ....

I finally figured I had to reinstall my OS. I was able to download an ISO file (Windows 8.1) onto my flash drive to install on my computer. Thankfully that went smoothly. However, I cannot activate my computer now. I tried to do it over my phone by typing in the IID, but I kept getting an "Oh Dear!" error message. Is it because the IID has been used before to activate my computer? What do I do next if that's the case?

Any help would be much appreciated!

HI,

Try contacting Microsoft via chat to get help with activation:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus/

Click on get started and type activation and follow the answers of virtual agent until end and then click on talk to live person. They should be able to help with issue.

Hope it helps,

David
