Help me with this issue, as this laptop is just newly bought. As a student it is really needed in my daily routine. Please anyone try to connect with me as soon as possible. @santhosh29k, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I understand how critical your laptop is for your studies, and I’ll do my best to help you recover it.

It sounds like the BIOS update may have been interrupted or failed, causing a black screen. Since you've already tried the Windows + B key combination without success, here are some additional steps you can try:

Perform a Hard Reset

This clears residual power and may help the system reinitialize.

  1. Turn off the laptop completely.
  2. Disconnect the AC adapter and remove any USB devices.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the AC adapter (leave other devices disconnected).
  5. Press the power button to turn it on.

Try BIOS Recovery Again

Sometimes the BIOS recovery requires a slightly different timing.

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Plug in the AC adapter.
  3. Press and hold Windows + V (instead of B).
  4. While holding the keys, press the power button for 1 second.
  5. Continue holding the keys for up to 40 seconds.
  6. If successful, you’ll hear beeps and see the HP BIOS Update screen.

Use External Monitor (Optional)

If the laptop powers on but the screen stays black, try connecting it to an external monitor to check if the display is the issue.

  • Connect via HDMI.
  • Press F4 repeatedly to switch display modes.

USB BIOS Recovery (Advanced)

If the above steps fail, you can recover the BIOS using a USB drive:

  1. On another PC, go to HP Software & Driver Downloads.
  2. Download the latest BIOS for your model.
  3. Use HP's BIOS recovery tool to create a recovery USB.
  4. Insert the USB into your Victus laptop and repeat the Windows + B or Windows + V recovery steps.
