I made an OS back up, I made a rcovery disk. My hard drive quit completely. I used the recovery disk so I could load the back up and the recovery disk had a warning that it was no the proper windows version, I tried to reinstall the backup disk ans they were not recognised either. I did what the instructions called for butthe dvds will no work. I tried to get an wiendows .ISO from microsoft but they say go to the seller. The seller has nothing to help. I want to know where can I get a copy of windows 7 64 bit to use on my notebook. I have a legal sn/number and legal 25 digit microsoft activation code. but what I don't have is a laptop / notebook computer that does not work. does anyone have a suggestion. Thanks

You got some really good help from @Lil_Boy_Blue but when you see the list of Win7 ISO versions, be sure to downlod the OEM version -- that is the version that came preloaded onto your PC and that is the version that works with the HP product key.
