@Jac039, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Computer cutting off while typing!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP computer cutting off unexpectedly. There could be several reasons for this behavior, including hardware problems, overheating, software issues, or power-related concerns. Here are a few steps you might consider to troubleshoot the problem:

Check Power Supply: Ensure that your computer is properly plugged into a power source and that the battery (if it's a laptop) is functioning correctly. A faulty power connection or a failing battery can cause the computer to shut down unexpectedly.

Overheating: Overheating can lead to automatic shutdown to protect the hardware. Make sure your computer's vents are clean and not blocked by dust. You can use compressed air to clean the vents. Ensure that the computer is in a well-ventilated space.

Update Drivers and Software: Outdated or corrupted drivers and software can cause system instability. Check for updates via the HP Support website or the HP Support Assistant tool.

Check for Malware: Run a comprehensive malware scan using reliable antivirus software to ensure that malware isn't causing the issue.

Perform a System Check: Use diagnostic tools available on HP's support site to check for hardware failures.

Check Event Logs: Review the Windows Event Viewer to see if there are any logged errors that might give you insight into why the system is shutting down.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
