HP Envy Ultrabook 6-1010tu
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi I have a HP Envy Ultrabook 6 and was deciding to upgrade it from windows 7 (existing OS) to Windows 10. During the process it ran various updates and when it rebooted, the blue screen of death appeared (screenshot attached). It will not load Windows.

I have completed some troubleshooting steps but cannot get it past the BSOD. Luckily being in IT I have backed everything up onto an image on an ext HD so I have no issues at all with re-installing windows.

Troubleshooting steps performed:

- Booting in Safe Mode ends up with BSOD

- Tried Windows Repair

- Tried Windows Startup Repair

- Memory Test - Passed

- Disk Check - Passed

- Windows Restore from startup options - ends up with BSOD

All troubleshooting ends with Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) iastor.sys

@Maxximus1

Did you try the update using Windows Update? Or did you download Win10 from MS create your own Win10 media and try updating using that?

Hiu Mate, Thanks for your response. I updated it using the windows media creation tool that I downloaded. It went through the motions and when it restarted, it ended up displaying the BSOD.
