Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Im searching for updates (windows update) but nothing happens and I just get an error. It says that search for updates has never been made although then it also says that updates were installed in march this year. How do I make the search for updates work?

I have found this link for getting Windows Update to work in W7 extremely helpful. 

 

I didn't even need to refer to the advanced discussion section.
