Hi @wem5,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're having persistent battery reading and calibration issues with your Victus By HP Gaming Laptop, even after replacing the battery,

here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot:

Update BIOS and Drivers:

  • Make sure your BIOS and battery drivers are up-to-date. Go to the HP Support website and download the latest BIOS and battery management drivers for your laptop model.

Battery Calibration:

  • Sometimes, multiple calibration attempts are needed. Fully charge the battery to 100%, then let it discharge completely until the laptop shuts down. Recharge it back to 100% without interruption. Repeat this process once or twice if needed.

Battery Health Check:

  • Check the health of your battery using HP Support Assistant or third-party tools like BatteryCare. If the battery health is poor, even a new battery might be faulty or incompatible.

Power Settings:

  • Ensure that your power settings are configured correctly. Go to Settings > System > Power & battery, and make sure settings like battery saver and sleep mode are configured to your preferences.

Battery Reset:

  • Perform a battery reset by turning off the laptop, unplugging the power adapter, and removing the battery. Hold down the power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual power. Reinsert the battery and power on the laptop.

Check Battery Connection:

  • Ensure the battery is properly seated and connected. Sometimes a loose connection can cause issues with battery readings.

Run HP Diagnostics:

  • Use HP's built-in diagnostics to check for hardware issues. Restart the laptop and press Esc repeatedly until the Startup Menu appears, then press F2 to run HP Diagnostics.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
