Hello RENUYEL,

Thank you for posting your concern,

If your HP EliteBook 820 G1 is experiencing an issue where the battery percentage is stuck at 95% despite being plugged in, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Check the Power Settings:

    • Verify that the power settings are correct. You can do this by going to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options. Ensure that the power plan isn’t limiting the battery charge.
  2. Calibrate the Battery:

    • Fully charge your laptop, then unplug it and let the battery drain completely until the laptop shuts down by itself. After it shuts down, charge it back to 100% without interruption. This can help recalibrate the battery percentage reading.
  3. Update the Battery Driver:

    • Go to Device Manager > Batteries > Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery. Right-click and select "Update driver."
  4. BIOS Update:

    • Ensure your BIOS is up to date, as updates can include improvements to battery management. You can download the latest BIOS from the HP Support website.
  5. Battery Health Check:

    • Use the HP Support Assistant to perform a battery health check. This tool can help determine the current health status of your battery.
  6. Check Battery Condition:

    • If the battery is old, it might not hold a charge well. Consider replacing the battery if it’s worn out.
  7. Disconnect and Reconnect Battery:

    • If possible, shut down your laptop, remove the battery, hold the power button down for 15 seconds, reinstall the battery, and then boot up your laptop.

If after trying these steps the issue persists, it may indicate a problem with the battery itself or the charging circuit. In that case, contacting HP Support for further assistance might be necessary.
