Hi @Ram041,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP PC is showing “Boot Device Not Found”, it means the system can’t detect a valid drive with an operating system. This can be caused by a loose SSD/HDD, corrupted boot files, or BIOS misconfiguration. Here's how to fix it step-by-step:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn off the PC.
  • Unplug the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power and try turning it on.

2. Check BIOS Boot Order

  • Turn on the PC and immediately press Esc or F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
  • Go to System Configuration > Boot Options.
  • Ensure the internal hard drive or SSD is listed as the first boot device.
  • If it’s missing, the drive may be disconnected or have failed.

3. Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  • On startup, press Esc, then F2 to open HP PC Hardware Diagnostics.
  • Run the Storage Test to check if the drive is detected and healthy.

4. Reset BIOS to Defaults

  • In BIOS, press F9 to load default settings.
  • Press F10 to save and exit.

5. Re-seat the Drive (if comfortable)

If you're comfortable opening the laptop:

  • Power off and unplug the device.
  • Open the back panel and reconnect the SSD/HDD.
  • This helps if the drive is loose or not making proper contact.

6. Use a Bootable USB to Repair Windows

If the drive is detected but Windows won’t boot:

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
