@mtorn714, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like you're experiencing a BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) issue with your PC. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:

BIOS Recovery: Some HP computers are equipped with a BIOS recovery feature that can restore the BIOS from a backup. Refer to the HP support documentation specific to your model for detailed instructions on initiating a BIOS recovery.

Download BIOS Firmware via USB:

  • Download the Latest BIOS: Visit the HP Support website at hp.com and navigate to the "Support & Drivers" section to find your PC model. Enter your PC model number and download the latest BIOS firmware.
  • Create a BIOS Recovery USB Drive: Follow the instructions provided for your specific PC model to create a BIOS recovery USB drive. This usually involves copying the BIOS firmware files to a USB drive in a specific format.
  • Update the BIOS Using the USB Drive: Once the USB drive is prepared, you can use it to update the BIOS by following any provided instructions, typically involving booting the computer from the USB drive while accessing the BIOS setup menu.

Also, you may refer to this guide: HP Notebook PCs - Recovering the BIOS (Basic Input Output System) | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
