Hello @jackieno1, and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing freezing issues with your HP All-in-One Desktop PC. I understand how frustrating this can be, especially since you've already run diagnostics and consulted a technician. Let's work together to get this resolved.

Update BIOS and Drivers

Outdated BIOS or drivers can cause system instability. Please update them using HP Support Assistant or manually:

Make sure to update:

  • BIOS
  • Chipset drivers
  • Graphics drivers (Intel or AMD)
  • Storage drivers (Intel Rapid Storage Technology if applicable)

Check for Windows Corruption

Run a system file check to repair any corrupted Windows components:

  1. Press Windows + X → select Windows Terminal (Admin)
  2. Type the following and press Enter:
    sfc /scannow
  3. After it completes, type:
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Disable Fast Startup

Fast Startup can sometimes cause freezing during boot or wake-up.

  1. Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do
  2. Click Change settings that are currently unavailable
  3. Uncheck Turn on fast startup
  4. Save changes and reboot

Check Event Viewer for Errors

This can help pinpoint the cause of the freeze:

  • Press Windows + X → select Event Viewer
  • Go to Windows Logs > System and look for red error entries around the time of the freeze

Let us know what you find, we can help interpret the logs.

Perform a Clean Boot

This helps identify if a background app or service is causing the issue.

Follow this guide: HP PCs - How to reset your computer to factory settings (Windows) | HP® Support
How to perform a clean boot in Windows - Microsoft Support

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics (Offline)

Even if the online diagnostics showed no issues, try the offline version:

  • Turn off the PC
  • Turn it on and immediately press Esc repeatedly, then F2 to enter HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI
  • Run System Tests > Extensive Test

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
