Product: elitebook 820 G3
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I am trying to upgrade from windows 7 pro to windows 10 64 bit with operating system software and drivers supplied. I am following the windows 10 installations instructions supplied. when I reach step 10 "to click drive options. Delete all drives except drive 0 Unallocated space "I am a bit confused as all my drive is drive 0 with 4 partitions like "system", ""windows ", "HP_RECOVERY""and "HP_TOOLS". The prompt warning at bottom of setup screen appears about not been able to use any of these partitions ! and NEXT cannot be chosen. What do I do. Do I use the actions at the bottom of this screen to : delete a partitions, format a partitions ? I am ready to go as far as I have saved all my needed documents and files on another removable drives.

Hi

I would ensure I had a W7 Recovery Media made, in case a rollback is needed.

Consider if your HDD is in Legacy or Secure (MBR/GPT) state and if you want/need to change anything.

 

Yes you will want to delete the partitions, hence the W7 Recovery Option will likely dis-appear.

 

I suggest you delete System and Windows initially. 

But a clean install over the full HDD is preferred by many people.

So I may be wrong.
