factory reset windows 8.1

Product Name: pavilion 15 notebook 15p229sa
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

hi

I want to get back to the os that came with my laptop windows 8.1 upgraded to windows 10

I did not like 10 so put on win 7 BUT I not know that you could not get any drivers for this laptop under win 7

So press f11 on start up BUT only windows 7 showing, how can I get back to win 8.1 then to win10

Many thanks

Re: factory reset windows 8.1

Those are the ones...

Here are the links to the W7 wifi and bluetooth drivers you need for that model wlan card...

The package contains the Broadcom wireless LAN drivers and utility that are required to enable the integrated Broadcom Wireless LAN Adapter in supported notebooks that are running a supported operating system.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp72501-73000/sp72879.exe

This package contains the Broadcom Bluetooth driver and software for supported models that are running a supported operating system. Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 Driver is required to enable Broadcom Bluetooth 4.0 devices and is compatible with Broadcom Bluetooth 3.0 and earlier versions.

Re: factory reset windows 8.1

Hi:

If you previously had upgraded to W10 and it was successfully activated, you can go right back to W10 by using the Media creation tool at the link below and clean install W10.

When you get to the window during the installation process where you are asked to input a product key, select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and autumatically reactivate once you are connected to the internet.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

If you want to go back to W8.1, you will have to use the W8.1 recovery media you should have made when you first got the PC.

Re: factory reset windows 8.1

You're very welcome.

The tool should work on W7 too.

Do you have another Windows PC you can run the Media Creation tool on?

Unfortunately, I don't know why it is giving you that error.

Re: factory reset windows 8.1

You can get windows 7 wireless drivers for that model.

Just post the hardware ID for the device you see listed as a Network Controller in the device manager, and I will post the link to the wifi driver you need.

Use this guide for how to find the hardware ID.

Re: factory reset windows 8.1

You're very welcome.

You can post the ID's for any devices that need drivers, and I will be happy to post the links to the drivers you need.

You can use all of the W7 x64 drivers and software from the 15t-p000 on your model, except the BIOS and firmware files.
